A brief description of the manga The Archmage’s Restaurant:

A man who was reincarnated in another world as a 9th class wizard and retired after saving the continent from a dragon war. He decides to open a small restaurant in the countryside, but his routine is anything but ordinary.

On the second floor of his restaurant, there lives a black dragon who has transformed into a woman, named Rurin. She is greedy, cute and loyal to him, but also ignorant and clueless about the human world. They live a fun and warm life, serving customers, solving problems and growing violets in the garden.

I dont Know why the comments say this is good. I gave it a really good shot (to chapter 98) but its just weird. I wouldnt recommend it 4/10 (Some power fantasy stuff is there and satisfying) Now (ig) spoiler warning but not actually hard story spoilers: 1. Having the child be the love interest is jist weird (miss me with that but its a really old dragon and dragon years are different, idk shes drawn as a child so fuck off) 2. So hes a modern man with 15 years of war behind him. I havent been even close but seeing as like 3 years iraq gives u ptsd and thats “human warfare” id guess that 15 years of medival dragon war would change ur personality. (But maybe thats just me idk). 3. The world building is honestly fine, but the source of his power (or the overwelmingness of it) coming from him eating the dragon lords heart and consuming 3 of those blue dragon balls is just weird like hes the lord of the dragons but also not? And there cant be another one until hes dead bc the valls dont spawn until hes dead? And a human can just absorb them? 3.5 idk if i missed it or i forgot already, but from what i thought it was a war between dragons and humans. And dragons are like semi-gods how they are portraited and theres like 500 at least and humans could fight back against that b4 mcs power up? How? I mean dragons have fucking teleportation magic???

Tldr weird child-50yo man romance, not consistent power levels between humans – dragons and other races, random plot and ok-good art

SPOILER AND TLDR;

This is about a war veteran who retiries to the sbuarea to be a chef. He is a *Modern* human, who killed many people, like a bunch. You don’t just get used to this stuff. Everyone below has never been in a situation where life was at gunpoint. He then goes on to live with a dragon gf-> wife and. He makes friends, then needs to return to duty, and he kills people, saves people and heck he is trying to live life. This isn’t an action manwha, this is slice of life sorta thing. Ya’ll live in europe or east asia, as a freaking dude which lives in a country with plenty of war (Israel) this is actually very interesting. Yes, MC is op but he isn’t an immortal demigod who can kill everyone, there were stronger than him, he had firends DIE on him. Also, his wife had her mom killed +other trauma. He is a *NORMAL* human, not an apathetic pshyco who is okay after killing people. I hope ya’ll aren’t that too.

Story about mage that killed many races, even humans. After that he is scared to kill serial killers and other bad people. He lets everyone survive. Later they massacre whole villages/towns and hes like: WHY, but I will not kill you anyway even if you try to kidnap/rape/kill/destroy my friends/girl.

After many bad moments he still is shy virgin, after his girl many attempts to be closer to him he is randomly like: fine, I will do it (TOTALLY RANDOMLY)

This story violates: psychology, agency, power consistency, consequence, learning. It’s the worst possible combination of a feelgood drama and slapstick comedy. An endless emotional treadmill without internal logic, real growth or conclusion.

it was really good and wholesome UP TO CHAPTER 60, than the offer decided to eat some magic mushrooms and cooked up possibly the WORST ARC I’VE EVER READ, like i want to wash my eyes in bleach rn it was so bad, dont get me wrong it’s a decent read but it really falls off after chapter 60…
