The rating doesn’t do justice to the story sure sometimes it might be slow but overall such a great rare experience and the latest chapters are something I am looking forward to and you will too. I recommend something, if you listen to songs while reading then listen to “Hate that I made you love me x one of the girls”. Feel the rhythm not the words it will feel great. Overall I give this a rating of 4.7. 
An amazing and emotional story so far. Defiantly not your usual reincarnate and slaughter everything manga. Think more of a guy who died to young reliving his life again but enjoying it more. Much more of a chill vibe than a revenge based reincarnation manga and DAMN does this mf have some emotional scenes!
Just like most ratings on this site, the 4.3 on this story is way higher than deserved. Should realistically be at around 2.5-3.0 range. Read it if you want but it’s not very good.

If you’re here expecting MC to one shot everything and face no challenges and not grow emotionally or mentally you’re in the wrong place.
This story isnt about the MC ruling over others with their superior knowledge of magic, there’s other stories about that if thats what you want. “The Great Mage Returns After 4000 Years” is great for that. But this isnt it.

This story is about a broken teen, reflecting on his past and the missed opportunities he could have had with friends that he took for granted. He often reminisces about past events that he did not cherish at the time and how he didnt even bother to take the time to get to know the people he loved most in the world to the point where after seeing their gravestones he doesn’t even know what they liked in life to place by their final resting place.
If you’ve read what i have to say and are uninterested then I suggest you not read this, because i am SICK of seeing people complain that the MC isnt one shotting people in fights when that’s not what the story is about.

It’s aight, I like the artstyle, the story is kind of shallow, a classic case of a protagonist with no depth, the antagonist makes for an interesting character tho, it would need a significant amount of polishing to become impactful, still a good read, nothing too crazy for now

Dont recommend this manga. The MC even if he possesed a different body and has lower mana compared to his original, he has much more battle experience, and saw monsters normal people didn’t.
Now at chapter 33 he gets PTSD from the big rat monster, which has dark magic in it, while his companions almost get eaten alive, and againt the boss monster he doesn’t use techniques he showed in the previous chapters, like immobilizing the monster by making the ground muddy and let it sink into it, or using the special fire magic which melts his opponents inside.
After chapter 33 I dropped it, the MC doesnt show any battle experience at all, while he was fighint along the past heroes, and is too weak.
This was really peak for me (I forgot where I left 70/80 ch?) 9.5/10
The author is making mc way too weak, if he was a great mage hero, he should be cooking them not losing? but he keeps getting destroyed by some random dark mages that are HIS AGE or YOUNGER while he is the top of his class, with mage nobles and the like. important schools here and famous schools there, beaten by mc.
then random dark mage kid that USE MC’S OLD MAGIC comes, and mc is suddently weak, emotional and pathetic.

Should be called ‘v mage resurrects and goes to school…’ he finishing midterms for 1st semester at chapter 58 wtf? Trying to tell 2 stories at the same time, his past life and then his current… all the characters act like 8yo’s instead of late teenagers it just stupid I quit.
